Dazzling Calling Card

There is ALWAYS a reason to celebrate!  I really wanted to design a business card that worked around the idea of a party favor or a place card.  I went through numerous designs and none of them quite tickled my creative bone. *Sigh* So I was walking down an aisle at Michaels one day and from the corner of my eye were colorful sparkling bags of confetti just DAZZLING at me.  *SPARK*  Why not make actual party favors?? Granted I am not the first one to come up with this idea, but its still brilliantly creative! So here is my first "calling card."  Glassine envelopes with stamped balloons and confetti!  I am definitely going to play around with the font for my next batch!  I wish I didn't have to censor my information, it just takes the dazzle away! Oh well! o.O

The party was a great success! Everyone played the part and had one too many cocktails just like a Mad Man! It was a swell time!

Strike a Mad Pose!

Photobooths always intrigued me! Instead of doing a photobooth, I am creating a photo "corner" that looks like a scene from Mad Men.  The party favors are linked to this fabulous set up! It is only appropriate to create photo props to add to the party!

Party favors are the last thing the guests leave with so might as well make it unique and memorable.  I wanted the favor to go along with the 60s theme so I purchased a polaroid camera! Who doesn't love polaroids? I then got fancy and created cute cardstock to stick the polaroid onto. Polka dots? CUTE! I then stamped (what looks like a typewriter) the word 'SWELL' on the bottom. It was indeed a swell time!

Cute Sophistication

I crafted kissing balls again with a twist.  I am excited to post pictures because they will be ADORABLE!  I used St. Germain liqueur bottles as the vases.  For those of you who have not heard of St. Germain, it is an elderflower liqueur which in my opinion needs to be on every bar shelf.  The bottle itself is beautiful, it is crafted with appreciation of the art deco period.

As for the rest of the decorations, it was a fulfilling search. I am a thrifter, you can only imagine the thrill I felt when I found framed 50s/60s styled illustrations! The first one definitely looks like Don Draper! I also found a knock-off of a vintage radio which I added to the many props.  Since Sterling and Cooper's big account is Lucky Strike, I wanted that to be one of the highlights of the party.  I purchased an antique painted sign print of the classic cigarette from Boxing Bear on Etsy.
